Prof Raphael Markellos
Dr Raphael Markellos is Professor and Chair of Finance at Norwich Business School, University of East Anglia. In the past he has held academic positions at Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) and Loughborough University, UK. After undergraduate studies in economics, he completed his doctorate in Finance and Econometrics in the Department of Economics, Loughborough University under a Royal Economic Society Junior Fellowship. His research interests are in the area of finance and time series econometrics while his recent work explores the role of information in financial markets. Raphael has published over 40 influential papers and has recently co-authored with Terence Mills the latest edition of what is widely regarded as a classic graduate monograph in Financial Econometrics (Cambridge University Press, 2008) which has been used as teaching material by leading universities in the US and UK. He is a regular speaker at academic and professional international conferences. His work has been widely cited in the academic literature and has attracted interest from media such as Reuters, Bloomberg, FT, BBC, Telegraph and Daily Mail. Raphael has over 15 years of experience in consulting and training in finance and modelling for organizations in the US, UK, Germany, Luxemburg and Greece.
